The Blackhawks have signed defensemen Brian Campbell to a 8 year 56.8 million dollar deal. Campbell was the cream of the crop of the defensemen in this free agent class. Many teams wanted him, and the Blackhawks somehow pulled it off. Brian will be earning 7.1 million per season which isn't as bad as the 8.5 million per season being reported before. Brian Campbell will now quarterback the Blackhawks' power play and help are defense. Now we have a defensemen and a better goalie, things are looking bright Chicago. Dale Tallon has made the biggest splash in free agency so far (until Marian Hossa sign with somebody. Dale Tallon is having himself a day, and isn't overpaying.
